I am the victim. I no longer want to press charges.
Can I withdraw the charge?
It’s not that simple.
Although you, as the victim, is the reason why the charge exists in the first place, once the police have decided to charge the accused, then it is out of the victim’s hands.

Canada's Criminal Code
The Crown Prosecutor, or also known as Crown Counsel, is a lawyer representative of the Crown or the State. They are appointed by the Attorney General of Canada. They have the job to prosecuting criminal offences under Canada’s Criminal Code.
Their objective is to pursue justice, not a conviction. They do this while considering the public interest. The Crown Prosecutor may ask for the victim’s input but ultimately it is up to the Crown to decide what to do with the charge (i.e. withdraw, determine whether the matter will proceed by indictment or summarily etc).
