Jared Goruk brings a diverse legal background to Shim Law’s Criminal Defence team, with experience spanning multiple areas of law, including Criminal Defence, Civil Litigation, Wills and Estates, and Family Law, having practiced in Calgary and in Drumheller, Alberta previously.

Jared is committed to providing strong legal representation and protecting the rights of his clients, shaped by his previous work with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary in their Adult Criminal Court, Youth Court, and Traffic/Bylaw Court programs. He has extensive experience in the criminal justice system and a deep understanding of criminal law procedures.
Academic Excellence in Criminal Law
Jared obtained his Master of Laws degree from the University of Alberta, focusing on Criminal Law, and served on the Student Legal Services of Edmonton’s Criminal Law Project. Jared also completed the Principal Training Course through the Law Society of Alberta and provides mentorship to articling students, enhancing the professional development of others in their practice of criminal law.
